People say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. We disagree.
(Our resident roof top dog Tres does too.)
We’ve been at this for a while now. Six years and counting. We’re one of London’s original rooftops and we’re constantly evolving. Maybe it comes with being the creation of a carpenter-designer who never stops, but we’re always tweaking, rejigging, hammering, drilling and thinking of ways to raise our game, whilst still doing what we do best. Serving up spectacular views of the city, in an atmosphere that’s toned-down and relaxed, but pretty damn special all the same.
That being said, despite any changes we make on the surface, our core values are something that will never change. First and foremost, we’re non-exclusive. We believe that anyone should be able to walk in off the street and visit us, without being hit by a wave of ‘reserved’ signs. All our seating areas and tables are available on a first come, first served basis. We are available for private hire on days/hours we wouldn’t normally be open, but we’ll go into all of that over here.
We also feel that even if your head isn’t entirely clear after a few pints, at least your conscience can be somewhat. That’s why all of our packaging is made from biodegradable, plant-based material and we have a returnable cup system in place, meaning no single-use plastic.
We’ll always be a little rough around the edges too. As we mentioned, we’re the brainchild of one man and his veritable assortment of power tools. Pretty much everything you see has been created from scratch, using raw materials. So rest assured, you’ll never find purple under-lighting, shiny floors or white leather sofas here. Not under our roof. Or rather – on it.
We also take pride in the fact that, although nothing ever stays secret for long in Hackney, we’ve never had to shout about what we offer. We let our surroundings do all the talking and it’s worked out pretty well for us so far.
Want to come up and see for yourself? You’ll find us at the very top of Netil House, just a stone’s throw from Broadway Market….
Head through the glass double doors on the main road, turn right and follow the arrows up the green and white staircase. More find us info here
